Men's Swimwear Brief
The perfect men's swimwear brief is out there!
Making the switch from surf shorts to a men’s swimwear brief was one of the most challenging but surprisingly funny transitions I’ve made in my swimwear journey. Growing up, I’d always been comfortable in surf shorts—loose, baggy, and as far away from my skin as possible. So, when I first tried on a men's swimwear brief, it felt like I was practically naked in public! It was a surreal experience, like all eyes were on me, and I couldn’t stop thinking, “How do people wear these?”
It’s kind of ironic when you think about it. Girls wear swimsuits much smaller than men’s swimwear brief designs, but they start so young that they’re just used to it. Meanwhile, I was in my head, worrying about showing too much in a brief. It took some serious getting used to, but over time, I began to feel more comfortable. In fact, something unexpected happened—after wearing those briefs for a while, they started to feel like there was too much fabric! Suddenly, the once scandalous brief felt conservative.
That’s when I started experimenting with bikinis. They felt freer and more natural. But the journey didn’t stop there—soon, I found myself reaching for thongs and even G-strings! It’s hilarious when I look back at how embarrassed I was to wear a brief in the first place, and now, I’m out here in swimwear that’s smaller than what many of the women are wearing at the beach.
Funny how things change, right?
As I ventured further into this new world of swimwear, something unexpected happened—it wasn’t just about comfort anymore; it became a kind of self-expression. Each time I downsized my swimwear, I was not only getting rid of excess fabric but also shedding the lingering insecurities that had been holding me back. By the time I started wearing bikinis, I found myself more confident than I had ever been in those bulky surf shorts.
At first, the thought of wearing a thong or a G-string would have been unthinkable. I mean, just imagining myself in one made me cringe. But once you’ve crossed the threshold of comfort in a brief, your mindset shifts. Suddenly, what once felt risqué now seemed exciting, bold, and even liberating. And let’s be honest—thongs and G-strings have a practicality to them that larger suits just don’t. Less fabric means fewer tan lines and a more sculpted, streamlined look. Who knew I’d end up embracing something I had been so terrified of?
What’s funny is how I used to see women wearing tiny bikinis or even thongs and never thought twice about it. It was just normal. But when it came to me stepping into something smaller than a brief, it felt like a big deal. I guess for girls, it’s no biggie since they’ve been doing it for years. They grow up with it, so they’re used to the feeling. For me, it was like unlearning everything I knew about what swimwear "should" be. But once I got over that mental hurdle, it was a game-changer.
Now, I’m out there on the beach in suits that, in all honesty, are tinier than most of what the ladies are wearing. I used to worry about standing out, and now I love it. I embrace the stares, and more importantly, I feel totally at ease in my skin. I’m more comfortable than I’ve ever been, and I can laugh at myself for how freaked out I was over that first swimwear brief.
It's strange to think that the journey started with a simple step away from surf shorts to the wonderful men's swimwear brief, and now here I am, happily rocking the tiniest swimwear I can find. The funny thing is, if you had told me back then that I’d be in a thong or G-string today, I would’ve laughed in disbelief. But now, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
